Story
20 years after the civil war in Guatemala, the submerged past comes to light thanks to the memories of the women of the time. Ernesto works as a forensic scientist in Guatemala City and is up to his ears in work. Every day he gets new information about mass graves from the time of the genocide in the 1980s, but his department has nowhere near the capacity to identify all the bodies found. When one day Nicolasa comes to him and tells him about a grave in the jungle, the horrors of the genocide start to infringe on his own life. César Diaz puts the indigenous women at the centre of his film and reveals their memories with almost archaelogical exactitude.
