54 schoolgirls jump under a train. This scene from Sion Sono’s “Suicide Club” (2002) is used as a quote in his new movie “Noriko’s Dinner Table”. 17-year-old runaway Noriko becomes involved with the bizarre “Family Circle”, which provides actors for “special occasions”. A cascade of elusively surreal horror – and a frightening portrait of an alienated generation.
