Story
In his last year at high school, Greg (Thomas Mann) tries to integrate anonymously and avoid deeper relationships. This is his strategy for survival in the social minefield of teenage life. Even his buddy Earl (RJ Cyler) with whom he makes short parodies of film classics; he refers to as a “colleague” rather than his best friend. When Greg’s mother (Connie Britton) encourages him to spend more time with Rachel (Olivia Cooke), a classmate with a cancer diagnosis, Greg begins to understand how valuable friendships can be. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is a wonderfully witty, heart-warming film that won both the Grand Jury and Audience awards at this year’s Sundance Festival.
