Story
A thousand tears deep: a tragicomic road movie about the sadness of an odd couple on their way to Italy. Paula (Luna Wedler) is going through a phase of deep mourning after losing her little brother to the sea at Trieste. Plagued by feelings of guilt, she seems to have lost the will to live. When she comes across grumpy old Helmut (Edgar Selge), who is taking the urn containing his wife’s ashes to Italy, she finally sees a glimmer of hope: in Trieste, she will at last be able to feel close to her brother again. On the eventful journey, she and Helmut develop an unexpected friendship – which awakens new joie de vivre in Paula.
