Story
In the rough waters of the North Atlantic close to the St. Lawrence estuary lie the Magdalen Islands, a small francophone archipelago. This is where Elie has ended up. For the young woman from Montreal, this wild romantic island is the ideal place to sort out her life. The snows are melting and the seal hunt is in full swing. The life of the inhabitants of this isolated world is governed by nature. Nature dictates the rhythm of life, it gives and it takes. Here, Elie is like a foreign body. Her presence attracts the locals’ curiosity, but also suspicion. Is she a critical journalist who wants to portray their self-contained microcosm in a bad light? The Wolves is a subtle poetic drama, in which nature becomes an emotional projection screen of the soul.
