Story
In his new film, Nuri Bilge Ceylan once again journeys into the melancholy expanses of Anatolia and proves to be a superb portrait painter and poet of world cinema. For the last four years, Samet, a young art teacher from Istanbul, has been doing his compulsory service in a remote village in Anatolia. He performs his work diligently, but, despite an affair with a colleague (Merve Dizar), can’t wait to put the dreariness of the Turkish provinces behind him. After a series of incidents, Samet’s hopes are fading fast – and he starts showing signs of becoming a completely different person.
