Mehmet lives with his wife, two sons and mother in a remote part of Northern Turkey with stunning scenery but short of almost everything needed to live. Mehmet is repeatedly urged by his wife to sell his breeding bull or get a job in the mines. But Mehmet has his own plan: he digs for metals on his own and is certain that he is close to discovering a valuable seam. He hammers away, deep in the rock, and come home every day empty-handed. Then Mehmet hears of bullfights in a nearby town and draws new hope: he starts training his bull. A poetic portrait of the archaic struggle for happiness against a fabulous natural backdrop.
