Story
New York, 1961. What does a failed New York musician do without a roof over his head? What happens when he has to spend every night on someone else’s couch and in doing so gets a friend’s wife pregnant and accidentally locks out another’s cat? Llewyn Davis (Oscar Isaac) lives for folk music, but without any sign of a breakthrough in his career. Night after night, he seeks a new place to sleep, and usually ends up crashing at other musicians’ like Jim (Justin Timberlake) and Jane (Carey Mulligan). But Llewyn can only express his feelings in music, not in real life, and so he continues to drift – from New York to Chicago and back, just like the figures in his songs.
