Ich liebe Dich accompanies the inhabitants of a remote Kurdish village in their efforts to learn a foreign language. Since 2007, German immigration law has required that foreigners speak adequate German before they can acquire a residence permit. Each of the women knows that their personal happiness depends on how well they can learn. All they long for is to end the long separation from their husbands and live a normal life with them in Germany. But the hurdles are high, if not insurmountable. A moving film about the desire for personal happiness and the obstacles on the way.
