Director Jang Woo-jin’s film is a tightrope walk between reality and dream, yesterday and today, rush and catharsis. Eun-ju and Heung-ju have been married for ever. After 30 years, they return to the place where they fell in love: the Cheongpyeong temple on an island near Seoul. On the way back, Eun-ju discovers she’s lost her phone and asks her husband to go back and look for it. Night is falling as he arrives – and the following day nothing will be as it was before.
JANG WOO-JIN (*1985) studied film and with his first two films won prizes at the festivals in Jeonju and Busan. His third full-length feature Winter‘s Night won the prize for best direction.
