Story
A melancholic journey through time, through territories and stories between dream and document: The new film by Miguel Gomes is a stroke of luck for cinema and won the prize for best director in Cannes. Burma in 1917: British colonial official Edward awaits the arrival of his fiancée Molly in Rangoon. But even before she appears, he is overcome by a feeling of panic: without further ado, he cancels the wedding and flees the city. As he flees further and further via Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, his cowardice gives way to melancholy and concern for Molly.
