Story
A hiking trip becomes an inner journey for a teenage girl in this superb debut film, inspired in its poetry and humour by the work of Kelly Reichardt. 17-year old Sam sets out with her father Chris and his oldest friend Matt on their annual camping trip in the Catskill Mountains. Matt’s son was supposed to join them, but then refused. Sam soon realizes that she is merely an extra in the two middle-aged men’s ego-trip. She generously vacates the stage for them and patiently observes their taunts and digs. But, day by day, the tension in her rises.
