Story
It is said that Istanbul’s streets are paved with gold. Sufficient reason for a poor family to move from Anatolia to the capital. The young son becomes ill, but the money an operation would cost is needed for their new shop. The boy dies and his young mother takes a desperate step… Ömer Lüfti Akad takes an almost documentary-style look at the phenomenon of national migration in Turkey. “The Bride” is the first part of a trilogy.
