DOCUMENTARY As a young girl, Natalia Garayalde filmed the explosion of a weapons factory in her home town. 20 years later, she makes a shocking discovery. 3rd November 1995. Without warning, a weapons factory in the Argentinian town of Río Tercero is blown sky-high. Shrapnel rains down and the neighbouring houses are reduced to rubble. With a video camera, 12-year old Natalia recorded the disaster. Two decades later, she revisits her old footage along with official archive material and it becomes clear that the explosion wasn’t accidental, but deliberate, orchestrated by the highest authorities.
Director
NATALIA GARAYALDE (*1982 in Río Tercero, Argentina) studied communication. Splinters is her debut film and has won several awards, including the Special Jury Prize at the Visions du Réel festival in Nyon.Trailer
