Over six decades, Ella Fitzgerald embodied jazz music like no-one else. She was America‘s »First Lady of Song«, whose life and work reflected the moods and upheavals of her time. Archive recordings and interviews with colleagues like Smokey Robinson, Jamie Cullum, Tony Bennett and Norma Miller reveal a person who lived and breathed her music and electrifies the screen with her exuberant joie de vivre.
