Story
Documentary Film-maker Ignacio Agüero travels to a small island off the coast of Chile, which is mostly shrouded in thick fog. He’s looking for actors and locations for a film, to be based on a local Romeo and Juliet legend. It soon turns out that no-one on the island has ever heard of the story. The inhabitants are far more concerned about the relationship between the indigenous population and the descendants of the colonialists on the island. Undertones of racism abound and few people are free of prejudice. The film accompanies Agüero, a brilliant interviewer and patient listener, and paints an intimate, fragile portrait of a society in isolation.
