Story
An opulent two-part TV drama based on the life of the geologist, Hans Merenksy. Born and raised in South Africa, Hans (Tim Bergmann) moves to Berlin in the 1910s when his father dies. After university, he returns to Africa, to find it overrun by Europeans competing in the race for diamonds and gold. Then an adventuress (Nathalie Boltt) enters his life… A picture of Africa between legend and history, but without omitting colonialism’s exploitation.
