Story
A woman is banished from her village for allegedly practicing witchcraft. Her daughter rebels against the decision and goes in search of her mother. Director S. Pierre Yameogo uses typically calm visuals to trace the story of a young woman’s fight against superstition and a repressive patriarchal society. Some of the scenes were shot in a home officially set up for women accused of witchcraft.
