Story
An intense family drama with Nina Hoss as a violin teacher whose own expectations prove too much and provoke a breakdown. Anna Bronsky (Nina Hoss) is a violin teacher at a music school. She is an absolute perfectionist as regards herself and her pupils, but also her son and husband. When Alexander (Ilja Monti) applies for a place at the school, Anna sees his extraordinary talent and asserts herself against the will of her colleagues. The teenager becomes the focus of her ambition and her family incidental. Anna wants to prepare Alexander as perfectly as possible for the interim exam – but then she messes up her own performance and transfers her failure to her pupil.
