Story
A film-maker is writing a screenplay about a massacre of students in 1976. The basis is provided by the account by a former activist who journeys with her to the North of Thailand. This is where the woman had to flee to 40 years previously in order to survive. Somewhere else, a pop star meets an actress during a film project. And a innocuous waitress turns up at a suspiciously high number of different places. By the Time it Gets Dark is a film that keeps shedding its skin and revealing new levels, hitherto invisible connections through space and time. It reflects on memory and its representation, about the memory of places and their inhabitants.
