Story
DOCUMENTARY A place of freedom, full of queer stories: Sébastien Lifshitz movingly records the lives of a few US trans people, whose paths cross in a house in the mountains. In the 1950s and 60s, a little wooden house in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains in New York State was home to the first secret network of cross-dressers. Diane and Kate are 80. Back in the day, they were men and part of this community. Today, they recount this forgotten chapter of trans identity. It is a story full of sound and fury, full of unusual characters – including Susanna, who had the courage to found this place of refuge, later known as Casa Susanna.
