Story
A calmly tender, loosely episodic echo of Icelandic society by Rúnar Rúnarsson. It’s just before Christmas. There’s a special atmosphere everywhere which reflects the emotional state of the nation. A deserted farm burns down, in a school a children‘s choir sings Christmas carols, in a museum a mother quarrels with her ex on the phone and a little girl lets her granny try out her new VR headset. Pictures of quiet contemplation overlap: the banal and the sublime, beauty and sadness, life and death, forming a bitter-sweet mirror of Icelandic reality.
