Story
Japanese aid worker Yoko is taken hostage in Iraq. She is eventually liberated, but on her return to Japan she is accused of egoism and comes under fire for getting Japan involved. Director Masahiro Kobayashi explains: “One could call Japanese society provincial”. If someone steps out of line, they’ll be branded. Films like “Bashing” prove that there’s a vibrant scene away from the red carpet.
