Andre lives near an aluminium plant in an industrial area of the Brazilian city of Ouro Preto. When Cristiano, one of the workers, has an accident, Andre is asked to drop by the man’s flat and pick up some clothes. He finds a diary which he begins to read with growing enthusiasm. While Cristiano slips into a coma, Andre submerges in Cristiano’s past and accompanies him on a journey across the mining province of Minas Gerais – in search of work and of himself. Arábia is a political road movie and a portrait of a migrant worker who rediscovers himself through his writing.
