Story
So much for being past it! In his debut feature film Africa, director Oren Gerner makes his pensioner father an unwilling rebel. For the last 30 years, Meir has planned the annual village fair, but as soon as he becomes a pensioner he stops being nominated for the planning committee. The village has decided to bring in some fresh blood and hands over the planning to the youth of the community. Everyone else also seems to be making plans without Meir. The old man gets the uncomfortable feeling that he is no longer needed. Determined to give himself and his life new purpose, he begins to rebel against his apparent insignificance and unavoidable physical deterioration.
