Story

A RAINY DAY IN NEW YORK is a love letter to old New York in which Woody Allen casts a loving look at the greater and smaller miracles and catastrophes of life. Gatsby (Timothée Chalamet) has planned a romantic weekend in New York with his girlfriend Ashleigh (Elle Fanning). Ashleigh is supposed to be interviewing the well-known director Roland Pollard (Liev Schreiber) and in the time left over Gatsby wants to show her the city. But Ashleigh is then invited to a screening of Pollard’s latest film. While she stumbles from one unexpected situation to the next with him, his screenplay writer Ted Davidoff (Jude Law) and the film star Francisco Vega (Diego Luna), Gatsby roams the rainy metropolis. WOODY ALLEN (*1935) has made more than 50 films as writer and director. Annie Hall (1977), Hannah and her Sisters (1984) and Midnight in Paris (2011) all won Oscars.
