Windless

Story

A homecoming, both physical and psychological: the lead in this powerful character drama is played by the Bulgarian rapper FYRE. After many years living in Spain, Kaloyan returns home to Bulgaria to sort out the affairs of his later father and sell his flat. At first, the whole thing seems more of an exercise in bureaucracy, but soon the journey becomes a personal meeting with himself. The otherwise so hard-nosed Kaloyan is suddenly confronted with traumas and faded memories from his childhood.

Director

PAVEL G. VESNAKOV (*1987 in Bulgaria) graduated from the New Bulgarian University. His debut feature Lektionen auf Deutsch had its German premiere in 2021 at FILMFEST HAMBURG and won several prizes, including the special jury prize at the Sofia International Film Festival and the FIPRESCI Prize.
