The Hvidsten Group played an important part in the Danish resistance movement in World War II. The film of their turbulent story has been seen by 800,000 people in Denmark. The central character is Marius Fiil, owner of the Hvidsten Kro, a Jutland village inn.He has no intention of accepting the German occupation or profiting from it like other villagers. From 1943 onwards, together with his family and friends he hoards weapons and explosives dropped at night by RAF planes. Everything runs smoothly, until one day one of the resistance fighters is captured.
