20-year old Ladji is a bus driver in the Malian capital Bamako trying hard to get his sister Aminata away from prostitution. When he is passed over for promotion, he turns to a friend who is a drug dealer and who owes him a favour. Supported by his friends, Ladji begins smuggling cocaine by the kilo from Guinea to Mali and quickly rises to the top of the tree in the regional dealers' network. Now he can afford whatever he wants, women and a lifestyle he's previously never even dreamed of. But the price Ladji has to pay is high. "Wùlu is the Malian Scarface“ (Le Point).
